talked to stu macleod of 488 this morning. he said they had placed a few u.s. people when the non-union element got ottawa (can. capitol) to throw a wrench in the works. he says they're now back on track and he has an assistant, brandy, honchoing the paperwork. there are 5 apps now at can. immigration and she supposedly has twenty add'l ready to ship to the gov't.. the apps are supposedly to be processed in the order rec'd.
so far they have agreements with two companies- one is a camp job. he said he would send papers describing both companies.
i checked 488s dispatch. the two cos he mentioned, bantrel & lockerbie, have mucho calls for fitters. i didn't check the weldor dispatch. the work is there. if only we could get our asses up there.
