If there is going to be a huge demand for craftsmen are they going to be paying any perdium or working time in order to attract them?

The last I have from the BA for this area is that they are trying to pay two different Per Dem rates depending how far you are from the site.
Those living under 50 miles, they are wanting to only pay $50 a day per Dem.
Those living over 50 miles, they are wanting to pay $75 a day Per Dem.
Of course we both know how that dog will hunt. ....... NOT!
Especially with most paying $100 a day elsewhere.
The trouble is NM also has a large long term project coming out of the ground right now down south in Eunice, NM.
This one is called the NEF Project, and will go through 2010.
This one will have a lot of aluminum piping involved with it.
412 is geering up their Training Center to train for Aluminum welding right now.
There is a new Union Built RV Park in Eunice called Desert Oasis.

Plenty of room, and they are giving people working at the NEF Project monthly discounts.
We just voted this last saturday to put $.95 on our checks starting the first of April. The rest of our raise will go to Training.
I'm working the outage at the San Juan plant in the Farmington area right now, and they are paying $3 something on top of scale as an incentive.

UPDATE! 6-26-08
The government has approved the permit for the Desert Rock Power plant. :Way Cool:
Of course the dam TreeHuggers are not out of money yet, and will probably keep it in court another 6 months.
The general consensus is that we'll be working on that plant this time next year.
They ARE building a road to it now, and it IS a GO!
I'll keep everyone updated as it progresses.
This is of course a 1500 MW plant and will go for around 5 to 6 years.
Two 750s to be exact.
