I am a 2nd year apprentice fitter out of local 244 Antigonish , Nova Scotia Canada. There is not much work around here so i will be heading back to Alberta to try and pick something up, and i had a few questions. I recently had an answer to a question about the ratio of journeymen to apprentices which was answered, i believe it is 4:1 , but is that right across north america or does that vary with each jurisdiction ? I was also wondering how a company can get away with paying LOA or putting up for a hotel for 3rd and 4th year apprentices and not 1sr or 2nd? Any help would be appreciated ...thanks.
