Courtesy Re-Post for local 403.....
I received a call last night that 403 - San Luis Obispo, CA. Walter
French, 3710 Broad St., 93401. (805) 543-2416, was in need of 50
Welders for the Diablo Canyon Outage.
Wage - $34.38
Vacation - $-2.98
On Check = $31.40
H&W - $5.27
Pension - $6.98
Nat. Pension - $2.50
$50.00 a day Per Diem
I always stayed at the Rose Garden Inn in Pismo Beach for this one.
Certainly not a five star rated facility, but for $29.99 a night and
free meals four nights a week, I could tolerate the short comings. I
am sure prices have changed since I was there, and hopefully the
place has improved.
This is one of the nicer Nukes to work, with some beautiful views of
the California Coast Line. Haven't been there in a few years but
keep hoping for an invite back by Walt one of these days. Always
treated well and the Locals are a great bunch of guys to work with,
or at least they used to be, time does have a way of changing things.
At any rate, if interested and the rumor is true, call the hall for
more information. Be sure to mention "JERRY LONG AND THE ROAD SITE". (http://www.theroadsite.com/)
