Proposed power houses for Nevada:
Sierra Pacific Resources, the parent company of Nevada Power Co. and Sierra Pacific Power Co., wants to construct two 750-megawatt coal-fired electrical generating plants in the White Pine County town of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.uatravelers.com/forums/ /><st1:State w:st=<st1:place w:st=" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">McGill</st1:place></st1:City>. The first plants might be completed by 2012.
LS Power Associates wants to construct three 530-megawatt plants near McGill, the first of which might open in 2011. Sithe Global Power wants to construct a 750 megawatt plant in southern <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Lincoln</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">County</st1:PlaceType>, near <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Mesquite</st1:place></st1:City>.
