Paul,
The ramp up at Intel is suppose to be putting on about 30 UA hands a week.
The last I heard, they had a call for over 100.
Besides that, 412 has calls in the 4-Corners area.
B&W has a few years work on the Baghouses at San Juan Plant.
They normally work 50 hr, but for the next 6 to 7 weeks they have crews working on the major outage going on.
EESI has part of that outage, and they are working 7-10's.
I started with EESI last Saturday. We worked 12 sat. and 12 sun.
Then fell back to 10's.
If interested, give John a call. He's a good guy.
Per Dem has entered the New Mexico vocabulary though.
The DesertRock Power Plant, scheduled to break groud around March 08, will be paying per dem.

Depends if you are asking about base build or tool install at Intel. Base build, as Michaeld made reference to, usually does not require a background check.
I AM AN ORBITAL WELDER AND HAVE WORKED IN CHIP PLANTS OUT EAST THAT NEVER REQUIRED A BACKROUND CHECK.MY RECORD WILL BE 10 YEARS CLEAN IN MID DEC.I DO THANK EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED TO MY QUESTION.

Kinda` surprised me also. But Intel is Intel.

Looks like they have started hiring a few.
One place to keep up on what Intel in Rio Rancho is doing would be to check Local 412's website. They now post their BA reports. They have a button on their News page that will open up their monthly BA reports.
This is the link to their monthly reports....
http://www.ualocal412.org/MonthlyNewsLetter.htm
Danny Beavers is the BA for the work at Intel.
While on their site, click on the Directory and it will give all the contact info for all their officers.
You can see their journeyman package by clicking on the New Mexico button under the logo banner in this forum, or a more detailed schedule by clicking the Benefits button on their website.
Fraternally, michaeld
