May 10, 2007- Start-up ethanol venture Gulfstream Bioflex Energy LLC (Chesterfield, Missouri) has won a local legal battle over water consumption concerns and plans to move forward with construction on a new $165 million fuel ethanol plant that will be located near Rogersville, Missouri. Locals took the company to court over a concern the plant would deplete water supplies in the area and the judge residing over the case ruled in favor of Gulfstream, Now the company is moving into the financing phase of the project.

Once the project is funded and state air permits are approved, construction could start as early as August of this year. Plans call for the creation of a 100 million gallon per year plant that will process some 33 million bushels of corn per year into the renewable fuel. The company has secured general contractor Walton Construction Company (Ellisville, Missouri) to build the plant and Foley Company (Kansas City, Missouri) will handle the bulk of the mechanical installations. The project will also utilize state union labor to perform the work.
